Corbet Franklin Bryant, Jr.

Mr. Bryant is a mediator and arbitrator for securities, business, and other civil disputes. His first limited experience as a mediator was in the 1980s during mediation weeks in Fort Worth. In 2001, he commenced a significant practice as a mediator for NASD and NYSE arbirrations, which has expanded to mediating all types of civil conflicts.
Mr. Bryant first served as an arbitrator for the NYSE in 1985. He now arbitrates for the American Arbitration Association on both its Commercial and Large and Complex Commercial panels and privately as requested. He has been a speaker on securities issues, mediation, and arbitration for the NASD, AAA, State Bar of Texas, local and state bar sections, law firms, and other groups.
Mr. Bryant was an attorney at Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal in Dallas, Texas from 197 1 to 2006 and 2012 to 2019. He was a partner from 1978 to 2006.
Mr. Bryant had extensive experience representing broker-dealers in suits brought by customers or other firms, including raiding disputes. He was also involved on both sides in employee vs. firm lawsuits. Mr. Bryant won the highest punitive damage award in Texas securities arbitration history at the time in favor of one of his sets of clients.
The balance of Mr. Bryant's trial practice consisted of general business litigation. His trial experience covered the breadth of contract and other business disputes. The subject matters of his lawsuits have included real estate partnerships, legal malpractice, insurance disputes, automotive crashworthiness, probate matters, oil and gas contracts, trust disputes, nursing home defense, and employment issues.
Mr. Bryant has considerable experience in construction litigation, including the defense of professional malpractice suits representing architects, engineers, and other professionals, as well as the representation of owners and developers.
As a result of Texas Monthly surveys of over 65,000 attorneys across the state of Texas, Mr. Bryant was designated as a Texas Super Lawyer in the field of business litigation from 2003 to 2006. From 2007 to the present, he was likewise designated in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. In 2018,2019, he was listed in Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation.
